How we list, verify, and rank sleep clinics in our directory.
How Clinics Are Listed
To be included in the SleepHealthyNow directory, a clinic must meet the following baseline criteria:
Active sleep medicine practice currently accepting patients
Valid medical license in good standing
Physical location in California
Contactable via phone or website
Clinics meeting these criteria are eligible for a free listing. We do not require payment for basic directory inclusion.
Verification Process
Each listing undergoes a multi-step verification process:
Ranking Factors
When clinics appear in search results, their position is determined by the following factors:
Profile completeness -- clinics with more complete information rank higher
Accreditation status -- AASM-accredited facilities receive priority
Recency of verification -- recently verified listings rank higher
NOT influenced by payment tier for organic search results
Paid featured placements are clearly labeled and separated from organic search results.
Data Accuracy
We maintain directory accuracy through multiple mechanisms:
Regular re-verification of all listings on a scheduled cycle
User reports -- visitors can flag inaccurate information
Automated checks for website status and phone number validity
Manual audits of listings flagged by automated systems
Removal Policy
Clinics may be removed from the directory under the following circumstances:
Permanently closed or no longer practicing sleep medicine
Medical license revoked or suspended
Repeated inaccuracies that cannot be resolved
Request by the verified clinic owner or authorized representative
